I can’t believe I’m about to hit 25,000 words! Holy crap! I actually wrote 25,000 words in the past 16 days! It seems to be only 71 pages in my Word file, but I’m not going to worry about that now. I am just going to go back, write the 300 words I have left to hit 25,000 and go get some shut-eye to celebrate!
Holy cow! Well, that was a good session. 2313 words, bringing the grand total up to 24278. I could try to push myself for the 25k, but it would probably be worse than usual. As it is, I found myself describing how painfully boring it is to work in a bookstore (which I’ve never done, so maybe it’s quite exciting) in much more detail than should be included in a novel.
I’m going to cozy up in bed with a good trashy magazine. As Jefferson Airplane said so eloquently, “Feed your head.”
I unloaded the kid and sent the husband away (okay, but that’s how I’m wording it, even if he’s the one with plans) so I can work in peace. No TV, even if that means I’m missing some of my favorite shows. That’s life in the writing world.
I’m at 22639, which sounds pretty good, but is a bit shy of where I should be. Today is the halfway point. So I should have 25000 by the end of the night. Except there is no way in heck I can pull off another 2400 words tonight. Not unless Mothra were to show up and start attacking the protagonist in her living room.
