Angie must have been on TV again…I’m getting a TON of visitors from Angela Nissel’s website. She wrote a book called The Broke Diaries, which I read and loved so I wrote her a fan letter, and she wrote back telling me that she loved my web site, and put it up as one of her links. Anyway, every time she’s on TV to talk about the book (say, for instance, Oprah) her website gets pounded, and a few brave souls wander to my site from her link. 42 of those people came by today from her site.

I know I’ve written about it before, but I highly suggest you buy a copy of the book, or at least borrow it from the library. It is a GOOD book.

Quick, someone notify my doctor – I dragged my butt outside and walked for 20 minutes. Now that doesn’t sound like much, but it was more than I’ve done in the three months prior, so cut me some slack. You people and your whole “health” thing, you make me sick.

Gas price update: Today it’s 1.21 at the same station. So two days ago it was 1.17, yesterday 1.19, and today 1.21. I’m seeing a trend. Problem is, I have no idea why this is happening. I don’t think I’ve read anything about it in the paper. But it’s been only a week or so since it was 1.07, so this is a HUGE jump.

Found this lovely USA Today article about Thomas Kinkade, the “artist” and I have to tell you…I haven’t seen anyone this high on himself since L. Ron Hubbard founded a religion based on his own science fiction novels. Kinkade even refers to his fan base as “the cult of Kinkade.”

The article is just so jaw-droppingly amazing that I should just let you read it for yourself. I think the two items I will remember forever is that he thinks God became his art agent, and if you buy an upper end painting with a signature, the ink the machines use to “sign” it are mixed with his HAIR AND BLOOD. Free DNA for the price of admission!

Gah.

He dismisses all criticism and feels that one day in the future his works will be considered important. I’m sure the artists who made all those pictures of big-eyed children in the 60’s/70’s felt the same way. Kinkade might want to take another gander at some of the things his art agent said in the Bible, and maybe spend a little less time being prideful and attempting to amass wealth. I’m pretty sure God isn’t pro-consumerism.
