Seriously, I’m not sure how they got this to work, but I have those excellent Maytag Neptune washer-dryer combos that cost as much as a small car. One of the things they promote in the advertising/sales literature is the fact that they are “synchronized.” I have no idea how this is supposed to work, we never bothered to ask. We just figured ALL wash cycles and ALL dry cycles lasted exactly the same amount of time, or something like that.

But that can’t be true because you can LOAD these suckers up, and they do take longer if you’ve packed in a load of towels, versus doing a few delicates. But every once in a while, I’ll be doing laundry and both the washer and dryer finish at the same time. It’s very wierd, and the reason I mention it is that it just happened now. The washer finished, and then the dryer finished about 30 seconds later. Great stuff.

Had to make a corporate decision: update the Big DumpTruck or vacuum. Old Jody would have sat down happily to update the BDT. New Jody thought to herself “Hmmm. I don’t remember the last time I vacuumed under the bed, maybe that would be a healthy thing to do.”

I also counted that as a little bit of exercise, because the vacuum I was attempting to use required more work than I wanted to put into it. I really want to get a new upright, something VERY light but VERY powerful. And it shouldn’t cost much. I’m sure there are just so many uprights out there that fit the bill. My Dirt Devil needs some sort of repair right now but I don’t like it AT ALL so I’m not going to get it fixed. It’s too loud. And too heavy. So there.

The two books I ordered on how to be a successful freelance writer just arrived. More money into the pockets of writers! I need to get some business drummed up for a couple of reasons:

1. I need to create something a customer is happy with just to reinforce that I am good at what I do. I know I am, but I want proof.

2. I need to have a client list to show other people so I can have an even bigger client list.

3. I can’t just sit here watching Mikey the Fish all day for the rest of my life. I did clean out his tank today. And every time I do, I’m reminded how much I appreciate that our friend Kim gave him to my son for a birthday present.

They were WAY less noisy last night. Of course, it was freezing cold again, and I think they are noisier when it’s warmer out. Either way, I got some sleep and we can all be thankful for that. I did hear some rumblings early early this morning, but nothing that would jolt me out of sleep like they did the other night. Yeesh.

Poor mousies. I hardly knew ye.

Looks like today I should call it the Snow Cam.
