Man, with all that talk about grocery shopping on the main list and here, you’d think I’d have been able to find something to make for dinner tonight. I’m SO tired of pasta. Pasta pasta pasta. It’s all the boy eats. That and chicken nuggets. Oh wait, we added grilled cheese. But anyway, we had pasta for lunch. Se we were supposed to get takeout something or other for dinner because it’s Saturday and I’m stuck at home with him and it makes the day a bit more, well, Saturday-ish. Except he decided he didn’t want to go out. So I had to scour the house for food other than what we normally eat. Except all I bought is the stuff we normally eat. Man, I’m sick of pasta.

Yes, this is a steaming mug of tea in front of me. Yes, that is my back yard with NO LEAVES in it. What a day! What a wonderfully warm day! It was about 65 around here, and I soaked in it. We ran errands in the morning…my overdue library book bill resembed what I normally have at Blockbuster. Oh, and we went to Blockbuster too. Then back home, where I raked and he played. I made lunch, then went back out to suck up the raked piles of leaves with the lawn mower. Spotless. Well, I’m sure just for this afternoon.

I also put away the deck furniture and moved stuff around in the shed so that if there’s a blizzard tomorrow, I’m ready for it. I even started up the snowblower, just to test it. Gawd what a racket. I hope I don’t have to use it this year, but I guess I feel ready now.

Added a couple more items to the “I really need to get these” list. I think I’ll throw some of them on my Amazon wishlist, too. You never know. Most importantly, there’s yet another new Bob Rivers’ Christmas parody CD. Gotta get it. It’s like crack to me. If I know it’s out there, I have to have it. Or at least borrow someone’s copy to see if the songs are funny.

Wow, busy day here at the old driver’s log. I’m not sure where the crowd is coming from…did a tour bus let you all off out front? I’m not complaining, I have always longed to be trendy and popular. If you’re here because I was written up in some ultra-cool magazine, feel free to drop a comment. If you’re here because I was talking about Tom Brady and Tara Reid a few weeks ago, well, we’re still happy to have you.

I’m not going to comment on this Ben Affleck/Jennifer (J.Lo) Lopez nonsense. I find it incredibly tacky to hear them planning a wedding while she’s still married to poor Cris Judd. That boy never had a chance, for the record. Now it’s not jealousy fueling my little tiny rant, because while I think Ben is cute, anyone who has seen Matt Damon’s naked arms (say, in Ocean’s 11 when he’s in the elevator shaft) you know which of the dynamic duo rings my bell. Anyway, my odds of this lasting for more than 2 years? I’m going to have to give that 15:1 odds.
