Stupid Movies You’ve Watched 1000 Times

We’re watching one of the two Scooby Doo live action movies – you know, the ones with the CGI Scooby and Freddie Prinze Jr. I just realized this is about the fifth time I’ve watched this one, the Spooky Island one. And you know what? For all the crap reviews it got when it came out, it’s not a bad movie. It doesn’t make we want to run screaming from the room, which is a big bonus.

Plus, you get the chance to hear Sarah Michelle Gellar say “Hey, I can look at myself naked” which is nice.

So this is how I’m spending my evening. Kind of disappointing, as Mr. Dump and I were supposed to be going out with my sister and her husband and another couple for dinner and a comedy show. You don’t know how disappointed I am all all this snow tonight. And I don’t think they’re going to reschedule the comedy show. I’m all boo-boo faced here.

So what stupid movies have YOU watched many times? On purpose?

  1. The Nutty Professor. Man, I’ve watched it a million times. It stays funny. But it really is dumb.

I also am partial to the Superman movies. I wouldn’t go so far as to call them dumb, but they are really dated when you watch them now. Plus, all that “look up in the sky” stuff is really hokey. We saw Superman Returns in the movie theater, and it made me nostalgic for Superman I and II.

  2. PS If you’re going to have a major snowstorm, it’s best to have it on a Friday night. We just snuggled up and enjoyed being snowed in. Of course, it’s different if you had plans, but ours were to watch Borat on DVD. I wound up falling asleep, so that was out. Maybe tonight.

  3. I agree, it’s best to have the whole weekend ahead of you to get rid of the snow. But I *really* wanted to go out last night.

  4. Ground Hog Day and Animal House I can watch over and over and over… although
I did catch Borat the other night, but it seemed to go a bit too much over the line in a few spots ala Jack@ss. Speaking of eating out, since I am on a diet, I keep dreaming that when I wake up, I’ll be going to Parker’s Maple Barn for breakfast.. Jerry
