Utter Wonder: The Idle Thoughts Of C. Monks | Read It However You Will

I are famous! Well, as famous as I can expect to be. C. Monks, who contributes to McSweeney’s, has material he wrote included in their new book. People Magazine reviewed the book, and used one of his pieces in the review. I commented on the review in People Magazine, and C. commented on my comment. Now what I think I need to close the loop is for McSweeney’s to review my website, or something like that.

  1. WOW! Jody, where do you find the time. I read the blog and the comments, very nice. How do you write your blog, work, write a novel in 30 days, and discover all these other cool blogs as well. Remember the Egg-A-Gog site. Sigh. You are my hero!

  2. Well, it doesn’t actually take that much time. As you can tell, I don’t update my site as often as I should. The only sites I’ve been reading recently are my two, and a couple of the ones over in “Sites I Visit Obsessively”. Which means I’m not visiting them all obsessively, I suppose. I’m on a mailing list and people forward cool stuff, so I don’t have to do any work for those. Lastly, the novel thing takes very little time, actually, if you aren’t worried about writing a decent novel. I write for about 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes at lunchtime at work, and then for a while between 7 and 10ish pm…however long it takes to get 1666 words or so done. It takes way less time than you’d think. But that means I don’t do housework and we eat takeout.
