I was thumbing through either People or EW this morning and got to the page with all the births, marriages, deaths, etc. and I saw a name in the obituaries that I recognized. It was for a songwriter who had his own “hit” single, which I own on 45. In fact, the second I saw his name the whole song became today’s earworm.
Anyone but me remember “Just When I Needed You Most” by Randy VanWarmer?
You packed in the morning
I stared out the window and I
Struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn’t stand in your way
Now I need you more than I needed before
And where I’ll find comfort, God knows
Cause you left me, just when I needed you most
(I didn’t look these up, so they may be slighly off.)
Wow…that’s a great song, to lodge so firmly in my head. Thanks for sticking it there, Randy/
