I’m not going to comment on the Mandisa thing, at least not the way everyone else is. I loved her singing. I thought she should have at least made the top 5. But even I wouldn’t have voted for her this week. That’s what it comes down to – were you better than everyone else?
What frightened me was that the bottom three this week were, with Chris, my favorite performers. I think Elliot has an amazing voice but he doesn’t have the “Idol” vibe. Chris is in a league of his own, talentwise. Paris is amazing too…I have her 2nd to Chris, I think. So imagine my shock when I saw the bottom three. Were these people even listening to Bucky sing? Seriously? And Taylor, love him as a person, but he stunk up the joint Tuesday. How the hell did he avoid the chopping block? Is America watching the same competition I am?
As my husband says, Mandisa is a knockout from the neck up. It’s amazing the contrast between her face and her body. I had a feeling she wasn’t long for that place. I think Elliott is next to go.
And in other last-night TV news, what did you think of the pony on DOND? Talk about hitting below the belt. Hubby wanted the dude to keep playing, but I was like, “What if they take the pony away? How could he explain it to his kid?” He said they wouldn’t be that heartless, but I dunno.
Whaaaaa? Oh no! I didn’t know it was on last night! Maybe it’s on the Tivo…
Whew! It was on the Tivo and I didn’t spill the beans for Junior or Mr. Dump. Ya, that was kind of sneaky but I think they *had* to do it at that point in case he knocked off the 200k. (if they truly don’t know what is in the cases)
We were talking about what makes this show cool – it’s very cool when they do something like that, based on the application the person filled out, etc. Sneaking that soldier’s two daughters out from the East coast? I was blubbering like a baby. It’s also to their advantage that Howie can play good cop to the banker’s bad cop.
The pony had me in tears. Seriously. Did you see her face? I think every little girl secretly wants a pony. You could tell the car sales dude was a genuinely good guy.
I haven’t been watching … that Bucky dude is still in it? I think I’ll stop watching.
