Rage Against the Machine

Okay, I just posted this over at the Wicked Good forum, and I thought it covered my thoughts well enough that I’ll just copy it here. Which probably means Adam won’t pick up the thread for his Boston Common page, cause he owns the Wicked Good Forum. Anyhoo…

Look, I’ll be the first to say that it was embarrassing to be a Boston fan tonight, but let me ask people this: How could Pedro, who wasn’t even in the middle of things, touch Don Zimmer unless Zimmer went TO him? And what reason under the sun would Don Zimmer have to go to Pedro in this situation?

Zimmer charged him, pure and simple, and Pedro reacted. What, our starting pitcher should allow himself to be attacked, hit and knocked down by a guy who outweighs him by double?

Way to go Don, way to set a good example for your team. Those Fox announcers crabbing at Pedro should all be ashamed for defending Zimmers actions simply because he’s an old man. He sure wasn’t acting like one when he attempted to blindside Pedro.

And Pedro, what the hell were you thinking, threatening to hit someone in the head? You know, that kind of crap is embarrassing to those of us who are longtime fans of the team. Cut the crap. I don’t care who you are. Good for Manny for admitting he was wrong about the pitch, but a little too late, dude.

I swear, this is the last thing – the rightfielder who got injured in the fight in the bullpen? Dude, what the hell were you doing in the bullpen anyway? Itching for trouble? Let security handle it, arsewipe.

Jody, raging tonight
