Tumor Fans

Sometimes I really don't want to think about the reasons that brought you to my little corner of the web. Oh, you know who you are. Once every two weeks or so, someone uses a major search engine to look up the search term "World's Largest Tumor," and because once upon a time I mentioned in an old dump, they wander here. I'm no tumor expert, and of course now THIS dump will make it to the search engines, but sheesh, why is that search term SO popular? Are there other odd search terms that I'm just not hearing about? Let's try the phrase "electrocution by toaster." I'm going to keep an eye on the logs to see if we get an increase in hits now that I've got that puppy in this issue too!

Linda P. Still Waits for Prize

I know it's been a whole month since I announced winner of the "Help Jody Find a Rescue Heroes Video" contest. I haven't forgotten. I'm still working out the details on the prize, and fully intend to present it to Linda. Part of the reason I fully intend to give her the prize is that she reminded me about it at least once already, and I have no doubt that I soon will get no rest. So Linda, keep your pants on, okay?

You Think *I'm* Mundane?

A guy I know from the Top 5 List contributor's mailing list has an interesting hobby. Well, not so much a hobby, but he took all these little bottles of hotel shampoos and poured them into one bottle, and then noted that they seemed to separate into different colored bands based on, I guess, the quality of the shampoo, how heavy it was, etc. Here is a quote from his formal study: "I have determined that shampoos with conditioner are significantly heavier than shampoo alone, and that brown shampoos are actually lighter than clear shampoo."

He posted a picture of the multicolored shampoo (I can only imagine the smell of it) and gave me permission to share it with all of you.

Not the TV show, the new Electric Light Orchestra CD. Jeff Lynne is in GREAT form, and I love the new CD. While it's no Out of the Blue (but nothing can touch that one...it's just the best of the best) it's a really good CD. Buy it.

Okay, so while I was looking up the URL for that CD on Amazon I got all caught up looking at all the other CD's they recommend related to it, and then the "People who bought this also bought" lists. It's just so fascinating! Did you know that Asia, the progressive rock band from the 80's is still recording? Well, one of the main guys is gone, but the others are there. And apparently you'll either love or hate this new CD. I happen to be a fan of "classic" Asia stuff. I blame my sister.

My Fantasy Baseball Team

Well, here we are closing in on the All-Star break, and as of this morning I was in 8th place out of the 12 teams in my league. Personally, I think I should be doing better than that. DANG YOU NOMAR! I'm hanging on to Nomar for dear life, but he's not ready to come back and I really do need him to be playing. Nomar made People Magazine's list of the Most Eligible Bachelors of 2001. But really, I don't care about that. I just want some good pitching and a chance to move up in my league. Go Lemon Stars!!!
