Criminy! March Comith!

Hey, I really mean it when I say I didn't realize I'm almost a month late with a new Dump. Are you sure I didn't just misplace one? It's happened before. Well, actually, no it hasn't. But how would you know? You haven't seen my hard drive, have you.

We're Pretty, Darn it!

Boy, this is a good one. I remember a couple of years ago spending HOURS looking at this guy's site and laughing until I cried. I love it. I shared it with people.

Now I see links to my site from his site and it scared the heck out of me. Why? It's the budugllydesign page. Bud Uglly, get it? But he used me as wrong answer in an Internet IQ test, and I don't think he really thinks I've got an ugly site. Well, maybe it is, but it's not as bad as some sites, right?

Back when I discovered this site, well, what, 4 or 5 years ago, this Newsletter page had me in tears, basically because you had to scroll sideways to read it. It's harder to get a real sense of this site now that all this is archived. Back then, it was the main site. It was a great example of everything wrong with web pages at the time.

I've never been an answer on an IQ test before. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Trading Spaces, Version 2

I don't think I can take the stress of watching this show any more. They are getting more and more "out there" with the designs, and this past weekend, they showed the infamous "Straw Wall" episode, and I could barely handle watching it. I already knew, from a published newspaper article, all the work the homeowners had to do to undo Hildi's brilliant idea of using wallpaper paste to attach straw to the walls. Real straw. In a house with two kids under the age of 3, one of them closer to 1. Straw. Fire hazard material. Anyway, knowing how much they hated it, and how much damage was done to their original fireplace mantel just had me freaked out through the whole episode. I think I'm going to have to stick to non-Hildi episodes, or maybe those from the first season, when they weren't going for shock value. And special note to Hildi: that WAS pink and it looked horrible. Admit it.

What's in the CD Player in my Van?

Uh, I have to go look. I know that I had Moby's Play in there last week, but I might have taken it out. Mr. Dump somehow lost my Pink CD (but we have the case) so I know it isn't that.

I didn't buy the new Spongebob Squarepants CD either, mostly because I've heard all the songs enough that I don't need the CD. Plus they didn't have what I consider the best song, the duet with Spongebob and Mr. Krabbs when Spongebob has to go work for Plankton. It's a beauty, I'm sure written by one of the musical theater greats. Oh, and the song they sing in the episode where everyone forms a band that Squidward leads. Actually, that one might be one there.

The List

Things That Need to Be Done to the Yard this Spring

  • Replace all the grass. I know it sounds drastic, but I've been here almost 9 years, and they planted the wrong grass for my full-sun, full-son yard.
  • Replace the three trashy last minute shrubs with something else. Anything else. I'm thinking maybe a Burning Bush. Something pretty in the fall.
  • Put in the flagpole I got for Christmas from my parents.
  • Actually buy all the 4 steps of the Scott's program instead of missing step 1 this year. Grubs. We got 'em.
