And Sometimes, Life Balances Death My Aunt Pansy died the same weekend we learned that Kimberly, who is just as much as sister to me as my real sister, is expecting. She and Ron will be welcoming their little bundle around the second week of February. This is VERY exciting news. Kim is the dearest friend in the world, and the first of us to get pregnant, so we'll be watching and waiting as if WE are pregnant!!! (Except we won't be munching saltines in the middle of the night.) I think she's pretty brave, because I didn't want to get pregnant for fear I wouldn't fit in the bridemaid's dress at Deb (my sister)'s wedding! Kim is the matron of honor, and all she asks is that Deb gives her a big bouquet...
The Dress "Thang" Speaking of fitting into a bridesmaid's dress, we've officially started the whole shoe-buying, dress-fitting thing. It's enough to make you wish they'd elope. I have been to the store twice now, because we needed to decide on a length for the dresses. It looks like we're going to go for three inches off the floor because the dress of the tallest bridesmaid in the highest heels hits that without any alteration. Mine would have been fine if we had gone for one inch off the floor.
July Stuff The ice cream man drives through our neighborhood every day at around 4:30pm. I think it's a great and wonderfully American thing that the ice cream man cruises through. However, 4:30 seem to be a really bad time to try to sell ice cream. I mean, I'm a grown-up and can do whatever I want, and I still don't feel comfy buying a strawberry sundae bar right before dinner time. My suggestion is that the guy come through at 6:30, after dinner. I think we could really move some Rocket Pops and Drumstix after a hearty helping or two of meatloaf.
