The Time Taker-Awayer

Well, I knew that a kid was a black hole for free time. I was aware that my priorities would shift. However, I had no IDEA the extent of the lost time. I thought babies took naps once in a while. I thought that Mommy would get a chance to update her web pages. HA!

Well, this is going to be a short one because the baby could wake up at any moment and then not sleep again until tomorrow, which would mean it will be that much longer you will be going without an update. So we'll all take what we can get, and as soon as I upload this update, I'll start the file for the next one so that I can add to it a little at a time.

Most Obnoxious Call

Well, we have an early winner in the "most obnoxious phone call of the year" category. Here is my scenario:

RING RING Me: Hello?
Voice: We have an important call for you, but all of our operators are busy right now. Please stay on the line and someone will be with you shortly. [Hold Music]
Me: [CLICK]

I mean, PLEASE!! You call ME and then I have to HOLD? All so that you can try to sell me some cabinets and/or lawn care and/or replacement windows and/or mortgage refinancing? Hello? You call at dinner time to make me wait on the phone? Maybe I should have stayed on the line to find out what they wanted from me, but my natural instinct was to hang up as quickly as possible.

Lord of the Dance Update

I didn't have a pencil handy when it was said, so you'll have to forgive me for not being very accurate with the details. But it seems that the thing that scares Chandler on Friends more than anything else is Michael Flatley. I knew I liked that character!

Michael did get some bad press as the "worst of 97" in some publication. But we here at the Big Dump Truck think it's all sour grapes.
